Not that I want to jump on the bandwagon, but it would be wrong of me not to acknowledge the situation we are in with regards to Coronavirus. As you’re aware, the situation and guidance with regards to this is changing daily and may well continue to do so. It would appear that common sense approach is needed, and until we have any further official guidance, here's how I plan to ensure that you receive as "complete as possible" service going forward, until normality is restored.
The good news for you is that from the very start, I intended to ensure my business could be run from anywhere I happen to be. As far as keeping you updated goes, dealing with potential buyers, making and receiving calls, and even trying to entertain you and other Skemmers with my videos, nothing changes, because I can do all those things anywhere. Viewings and valuations
On the surface at least, these can be a little more problematic - however current advice states that we can still do them as long as we keep our distance and don't shake hands. I can cope with that.
I am in the process of going round to each marketed property and doing a short video tour of each, so we do at least have an alternative for people who are not comfortable with going into houses at present. It's also a really good additional marketing thing that hopefully we can all take full advantage of.
Similarly, for valuations, I am going to introduce a way of potential sellers being able to dial in via WhatsApp or Google Hangout, which enables me to see their homes and provide a valuation, as well as having a face-to-face chat without physically meeting. It will be strange, but fun, and if people like it, then I make even make it a permanent offering. If you know anyone who would like one, then I would be pleased to try it out on them!
On a slightly more serious note, however, please do be aware that there is some economic uncertainty attached to this pandemic, and I think it's a given that things are going to slow down somewhat. I will keep you posted as normal as to what is happening, and I will continue to try and generate as much interest as possible.
Symptoms A general word of advice for if you are having viewings, or if you're receiving a visit from me, anyone associated with me, or a photographer, viewer, surveyor or anyone connected to the marketing/sale/letting of your home.
If you are in a position where you are presenting symptoms and need to self-isolate, then please DO NOT ACCEPT viewings. It's far better to be safe than sorry. I'd rather self-isolate as a precautionary measure so that I can keep working for you. If you have friends or relatives who are presenting symptoms, then official advice is for them to also self-isolate and to not visit anyone. Embarrassing as it may be, we will also ask anyone who is due to visit if they're presenting symptoms, and decline to allow the visit if they are. We will also ask them to rearrange if they start to present symptoms.
If we stay sensible, we will stay safe.
